Class of '44

Mr. Francis D. Reynolds' book, Crackpot or Genius: A Complete Guide to the Uncommon Art of Inventing, has been published by the Chicago Review Press. A retired Boeing engineer, Mr. Reynolds teaches at the UW Experimental College and Seattle University, writes a monthly technical column in Model Builder magazine, and runs a consulting business serving inventors.

Class of '55

Dr. Thomas T. Claudson is a manager with Battelle Memorial Institute. He is currently a loaned executive to Heritage College in Toppenish, WA, where he is acting chair of the college's Science and Technology Division and teaches in both the Science and Business Management Divisions.

Class of '59

Mr. Vernon J. Phelps is a principal engineer with the Boeing Company. In addition to his BSME, Mr. Phelps earned an MS in computer science from the UW in 1980. He worked with the Winston Eagle Hydro Team providing computer support services and in 1992 started his own company, Gecko Associates Software.

Class of '65

R. Gary Schweikhardt, president of Washington Biotechnology Funding, was recently selected as president of the MIT Alumni/ae Association for 1994-95. He is also serving a five year term as trustee at MIT.

Class of '76

Dr. Edward Gootzai is engineering supervisor at Yorktown Power Station, a 1250 megawatt fossil station.

Class of '79

Mr. Bob Roney is a captain with Continental Airlines. He recently switched to the DC-10 after flying the Boeing 727 for seven years. He is based in Guam and flies routes to Japan, Australia, Hawaii, Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Bali.

Class of '80

Mr. Bahman Hadi is a thermal analyst for Chrysler Technologies in Waco, Texas.

Class of '91

Mr. Scott Leigh recently became an engineer with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation. He has a new son, Josiah Andrew, born October 26, 1994.

Class of '92

Lt. James H. Hannah, U. S. Navy, is main propulsion assistant and electrical assistant aboard the USS Annapolis (SSN-760), homeported in Connecticut.
