1930s

Mr. George O. Lundstrom (BSME '38) is retired and working part-time as a hydromatic engineer. He was formerly a design engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

1940s

Mr. Victor H. Bilek (BSME '41) is retired. He enjoyed a 33-year career with the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, working both as an engineer and in management positions in aircraft armament R&D and on the staff of the Foreign Technology Division.

Mr. Wilton M. Whisler (BSME '48) is retired. He spends his time monitoring three grandchildren, researching family history, and publishing a magazine on genealogy.

1950s

Mr. Bruce C. Campbell (BSME '52) retired in 1989 after 38 years with the Boeing Company. He was a Senior Specialist Engineer, and worked for over 20 years on pressurized aircraft door design.

Mr. Thomas L. Allison, Jr. (BSME '55) was recently elected President of Sahalee Country Club, site of the 1998 Professional Golfers Association Championship.

Mr. Frank T. Beers III (BSME '59) became Project Manager of the Device Assembly Facility at Raytheon Services Nevada in 1984. In early 1996 he was anticipating retiring, buying a motor home and traveling.

Mr. Charles Preble (BSME '59) retired after 33 years with Alliant Techsystems (formerly Honeywell Defense Systems). He and his wife Rosalie are building a retirement home near Sequim, Washington.

1960s

Mr. Reed M. Phillips (BSME '60) lives in California and is a pilot with TWA. In 1992 he retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Captain. His youngest daughter, Layne, graduated from West Point in 1994.

Mr. Clark D. Silliman (BSME '61, JD '68) is an instructor in the Legal Assistance Program at Edmonds Community College, and reports that teaching is the most satisfying career of his life. He is also a musician and leader of a German oompah band.

Mr. Ronald E. Hart (BSME '62) retired after working for 21 years for the U.S. Air Force at Edwards AFB, California. He was Division Chief on the B-2 flight test team when he retired.

1970s

Mr. Robert L. Herschkowitz (MSME '70) is a principal engineer with the Boeing Company, where he travels all over Europe and Africa training operators on aging aircraft maintenance. He is also a volunteer with the Crime Analysis office of the Bellevue Police Dept., and has published several articles on military history.

Mr. Robert D. Reid, P.E. (MSME '74) is head of Reid Product Development in Los Angeles, CA. His firm provides engineering design services, specializing in durable equipment used in medical, laboratory, and consumer applications.

Mr. Kent Johnson (BSME '75) works as a mechanical engineer with Fletcher General Construction, Inc. of Seattle.

Mr. Shane M. Porambo (BSME '77) owns a general home repair business in Enumclaw, Washington, and also works as caretaker on a ranch.

Mr. Dalton B. Pittman (BSME '79) lives in Rosamond, California, and is an aero/structures engineer with Tybrin Corp.

1980s

Mr. Jose A. Koch (BSME '80) is a mechanical engineer with the Bonneville Power Administration. He works in the Demand Side Management Group, involved in improving electrical energy efficiency in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

1990s

Mr. Nickolas H. Guertin (BSME '90) is a mechanical engineer with the Department of the Navy. He recently completed a two-year tour at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, Rhode Island, and is now working at the NAVSEA HQ in Arlington, Virginia.

Mr. Todd M. Cowles (BSME '91) lives in Tennessee where he is a sales engineer with Landis & Gyr, Inc.

Ms. Kimberly A. (Turner) Paulson (BSME '92) lives on Bainbridge Island and is a staff engineer with Washington Natural Gas Company.

Mr. Mike F. Matusky (BSME '93) has moved to Michigan where he is employed as a dimensional control engineer with Variation Systems Analysis.

ASME Honors Carpentier

Philip L. Carpentier, BSME 1981, was recently named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The Fellow grade is conferred upon a member who has at least 10 years active engineering practice and has made significant contributions to the field.

Mr. Carpentier lives in Katy, Texas. He is currently Senior Facilities Engineer at Shell Western E & P, Inc. In addition to his BSME he holds a master's degree from the University of Houston.
