Biography

(BSME, 1978) began a bank career 12 years ago and became President and Chief Executive Officer of West One Bank Washington in March 1993.

Following her engineering co-op job with the General Electric Company, Ms. Jewell joined Mobil Oil Corporation as a field production engineer. Her energy and engineering background were attractive to Rainier Bank which brought her back to the Northwest in 1981.

Throughout her 12 years in banking she has found her engineering background very valuable. Her ability to evaluate and understand the viability of a manufacturing process has helped her assist businesses to grow and prosper.

Banking mergers over the last few years resulted in Rainier Bank's acquisition by Security Pacific, which was then acquired by the Bank of America. These events provided an opportunity for Boise-based West One Bancorp to expand in Washington. West One Washington now operates 54 branches in the state and has $20 billion in assets.

Ms. Jewell actively participates in community activities and holds leadership positions with Economics America, the YWCA of Seattle-King County, the UW Women in Engineering Initiative, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, the Seattle Alliance for Education and the Corporate Council for the Arts.
