Biography

Professor Chalupnik is interested in the areas of acoustics, noise control, modal analysis, shock and vibration analysis, and instrumentation, particularly as applied to the above; experimental mechanics and stress analysis.

Typical research projects include the effect of roadwear on noise generated by the tire/road interface and the control of noise reflected from the undersurface of stacked roadways.

Professor Chalupnik is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and a Founding Member of the Institute for Noise Control Engineering.
