Biography
Professor Storti's research interests lie primarily in the
areas of computational manufacturing and design. His recent
focus has been on innovative mathematical foundations for
geometric design which are well suited to interface with
rapid manufacturing technology. Specific topics of study
include implicit solid modeling, rapid prototyping, and
geometry characterization using shape skeletons. He is a
co-founder (with Prof. Mark Ganter) of the Computational Design and
Manufacturing Laboratory, and is currently developing
a new course on Rapid Manufacturing to be offered for the
first time in Spring 1997. Prof. Storti also maintains a
secondary research program relating to the dynamics of
coupled nonlinear oscillators.
