1990s
Jon D. Yourkoski (BSME '96) is an MBA candidate at the U. of North Carolina and will receive his degree in May. He will be joining Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in New York City as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division following graduation.
Richard A. Layton (Ph.D. '95) has a new position as Assistant Professor at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, IN. He reports that he has great students, good collaboration with his colleagues, and good support from the Institute to implement innovative pedagogy. The only drawback: Terre Haute is a long way from the beach.
John C. Grove (BSME '93) is an officer in the U.S. Navy. He is Engineer Officer on the USS Hartford (SSN 768), a nuclear-powered attack submarine based in Groton, CT. The Hartford has a crew of 135, including 14 officers.
Douglas Chang (MSME '92) completed his M.D./Ph.D. in Orthopaedic Mechanics at Emory U. in June 2000, and began his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in June.
1980s
Keith Depew (BSME '88) has been moved to Midlothian, TX by Hohlnam, Inc., and named Manager of the company's cement manufacturing plant there. This facility was recently expanded to increase capacity by 150%. Prior to this position, Keith managed a very successful startup and commissioning of a new plant at Devil's Slide, UT. Keith and his wife Tracy have three boys: Levi, Dalton and Garret.
Daniel Vu (BSME '86) joined Cdi Mechanical Engineers, Lynnwood, WA, as a mechanical designer.
Daniel B. Wells (BSME '80) is a District Operations Manager with Centrilift, Cody, WY.
1970s
Robert J. Roney (BSME '79), a Captain with Continental Airlines, was selected a flight instructor on the Boeing 757 aircraft. He accepted this management position in March, 2000. He and his wife, Pam, live in Redondo, WA.
1960s
Ivan Metcalf (BSME '69) has changed his professional discipline to "great fisherman" after 30 years at the Hanford site, Richland, WA.
Gary Williamson (BSME '65) joined Cdi Mechanical Engineers in Lynnwood, WA, as Senior Mechanical Engineer.
1940s
Francis D. Reynolds P.E., (BSME '44) consults on product and invention development with Reynolds Engineering Company, Bellevue, WA. He also writes a technical column for the monthly magazine Model Builder, and teaches classes in inventing for the UW Experimental College. He is retired from the Boeing Company, where he worked for 40 years in engineering management.
