Russell Noe Joins the Staff

Mr. Russell H. Noé, the most recent addition to the Mechanical Engineering Staff, was hired in April 1997 as Scientific Instructional Technician. He is in charge of the Engineering Annex shop facilities, responsible for maintaining shop equipment for use by classes and instructing shop users in proper operational and safety procedures.

Russell comes to the Department with twenty years of experience in biomedical electronics and machine shop equipment. His experience ranges from small biomedical devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators, to restoration of steam locomotives. Concerning his position, Russell says it is enjoyable to "work at a job that is both fun and rewarding. I look forward to coming to work each day!"

Russell's wife, Katherine, is a professor in the School of Education at Seattle University. They have two sons, ages 9 and 13.

In his free time, Russell enjoys sailing, rebuilding and operating steam locomotives, building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, playing the violin and mandolin, and spending time in machine shops "making things, useful and otherwise."
