Ph.D. candidates Chek Lim and Mark Ensz were winners of the first annual College of Engineering Art Contest and recipients of a $200 cash prize. Junior Monica Williams received an Honorable Mention and $50 prize for her entry.

Seniors Leila Belding and James Kysela received Gray Scholarships (tuition paid for three quarters) from the College of Engineering.

Senior Matthew Bezanson received a Wahl Scholarship (tuition paid for three quarters) from the College.

Junior Craig Connors was named to the First Team of the men's track and field All-Academic team by the Pac-10 conference.

Senior Terje Dehli received a Stanley Scholarship (tuition paid for three quarters) from the College of Engineering.

Senior Kristin Green received a $1000 Mill Scholarship from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Junior Dana Johnson received a $1000 AT&T Scholarship.

Senior Keith Johnson received a $5000 D.J. McDonald Scholarship from the ASME National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.

Senior John Ma received a $2000 Boeing Scholarship from the College of Engineering.

Junior Steven McEwen received a $1785 scholarship from Longview- Fibre.

Senior Beverly Rettig received a Lynch-Russell Scholarship (tuition paid for three quarters) from the College of Engineering.

Junior Chanadejh Sakchalathorn received a $2500 Schatz Scholarship Award, the first given from an endowment created last year by General Plastics Manufacturing Company President and CEO Henry T. Schatz (BSME '64).

Junior Patrick Sumanaseni received a Russell Wayland Scholarship (tuition paid for three quarters) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Senior Johnny Wang received a Co-op Special Achievement Award, which includes a check for $500, from NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Junior Seanda Williams received a $2500 Upper Division Scholarship from the Alcoa Foundation.
