Interviewing

Prepare for an interview like you prepare for a test. Research a company prior to an interview with the Employer Resources File in the Center for Career Services. Know the job description and study engineering books of major topic areas. If a job is related to a class you have taken, find your textbook and do a few homework problems during the week prior to your interview. If the job requires CAD, refresh your skills in CAD the week before the interview. Make sure you know how to get to the interview site on time. Try to be calm. It may mean not concentrating on your interview for the 24 hours prior, but instead relaxing by going to a movie the night before. These are some of the same strategies you would use before taking an exam. You don't need to memorize things but your ability to reason is important.
