In the Fall 2005 issue, we congratulate Joe Garbini on being named the first holder of the Professor James B. Morrison Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering, highlight the department's upcoming centennial with a review of the first fifty years (1906-56), pay tribute to Rod Kirkwood for his accomplishments and career as a mechanical engineer, and describe how the interests of alumnus Nathan Miller (BSME '04) led to a demonstration solar power project for the Mechanical Engineering Building.
