The Department of Mechanical Engineering houses one of the most prominent mechanical engineering graduate programs in the country, with 29 full-time faculty and 165 graduate students (115 full-time and 50 part-time who work full-time in industry). In addition, the department awards 100 baccalaureate degrees each year, with 220 junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled in the department.
