Biography
Professor Hyman received his undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His graduate degrees in enginering mechanics were obtained at St. Louis University and Virginia Tech.Professor Hyman's primary research interests concern energy systems analysis, planning, and policy. Current activity focuses on characterizing, modeling, and simulating energy usage and emissions patterns in manufacturing processes. Ongoing studies examine the paper, cement, petroleum refining, and steel industries. Professor Hyman also has research interests in the use of decision analysis and optimization techniques in engineering design.
