Linear Gratings Demonstrating Moire Fringes
Producing Linear Gratings Using a Laser PrinterA program which may be used to create a linear grating with a laser printer are available for download. The program will run on Windows95 or Windows NT 4.0 or higher. Either a compiled version or the source code is available.
Usage Notes
To adjust the size and frequency of the grating go to View menu and select Values. From this dialog box you can set the starting and ending positions and spacing size. Using Print Preview from the File menu to determine the page layout prior to printing is often helpful.
For the suggested 150 lines per inch grating printed to a 600 dpi HP LaserJet 5 the values entered are:
- Skip Pixels : 3
- Start X : 10
- Start Y : 10
- End X : 10000
- End Y : 10000
