ME Hall of Fame
2006 Award Winners | Submit a Nomination
Welcome to Mechanical Engineering's Hall of Fame, inaugurated in the centennial year of the department (2006). Election to the ME Hall of Fame is intended as a lifetime achievement award to honor ME alumni, former students, faculty, and staff who have made major contributions to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and/or to the Mechanical Engineering discipline. New inductees to the Hall of Fame are recommended by a committee consisting of current Hall of Fame members, faculty, and staff. Committee recommendations must then be approved by a vote of active ME faculty.
The primary criterion to be considered is that the nominee must have made major and lasting contributions to:
- The Mechanical Engineering Discipline and/or
- The University of Washington's Department of Mechanical Engineering
New inductees to the ME Hall of Fame are honored during spring graduation ceremonies, held in early June of each year.
Nominating a New Member
Nominations for new ME Hall of Fame members are welcomed from all interested parties. Nominations received by March 1 of every year will be considered for induction that year.
Instructions on nominating a new member are available HERE.
