In response to current restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mechanical Engineering Department will temporarily waive the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) requirement for students applying for admission through Fall 2022. Leaving the GRE portion of your application blank will not impact your likelihood of being admitted to the program. If you do choose to submit your scores, the admissions committee will consider them along with the other aspects of your application.
The information below does not apply to 2020-21 or 2021-22 admissions.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering requires that all applicants take the GRE general test. For scheduling information, see ETS.
We require the following minimum GRE scores. Test scores should be sent electronically to UW institution code 4854.
